CANAL SHORES
Helping to rebuild a cherished community golf course and provide a path for local kids.
On the western shore of Lake Michigan, 12 miles north of Chicago, lie the headwaters of the North Shore Channel – a man made drainage canal dug in 1910 to flush the north branch of the Chicago River into the Sanitary and Ship Canal to the south.
Upon its completion, the city fathers of Evanston and Wilmette, where the channel begins its southwest flow, were faced with a decision – how best to utilize the land on either side of the canal? After much discussion, and several beers, local civic leader Peter N. Jans uttered a single word that would forever alter the recreational character of the surroundings.
He said -- “Golf ”.
One hundred years later the dream endures at this community golfing gem - Canal Shores.
As the course enters its 2nd century, we've worked with this 501c3 non-profit to craft a range of branding, web and content solutions to drive greens fees, event promotions and fundraising. The buzz has caught the attention of friends like Tom Coyne, EIC at The Golfer's Journal and famous neighbors like Joel Murray (see their video below), and the talent and support of industry heavy weights like KemperSports, Western Golf Association/Evans Scholar Foundation, The First Tee, Wadsworth Construction and architect Todd Quitno to create a truly unique experience for golfers of all ages.
Our local gem will be growing the game for another hundred years! Opening Summer '24
